Althoff spoils Urbana's return to the Classic 78-39

Urbana's first game in the Holiday Classic in more then a decade was not a happy one.  Althoff invoked the thirty point rule on the Tigers in the fourth quarter.  The Crusaders blew the game open on a 11-0 run to start the game.  Althoff increased its lead to 25 at the half (48-23).  The Crusaders leading point man was Carson Sonnenberg with 13 and Urbana was led in scoring with Simmeon Simmons with 11. 


Highland tops host Kahoks 50-40

Highland proved to not be gracious guests as they knocked the Kahoks into the loser bracket.  The Bulldogs led the game from the opening tip to the final buzzer.  The Kahoks got to within three points (40-37) but never got the lead.  Highland was led in scoring by Brent Kuper with 16 points and Collinsville was led in scoring by Robbie Fernandez with 20 points. 


Top seeded Walton downs Glenwood 64-50

Glenwood and Walton exchanged the lead numerous times during the first half. A pair of three pointers by Ryan Harrow and Glen Rice Jr. gave the Raiders the lead for good going into halftime.  Walton started the second half on 6-0 run and Glenwood was never able to get eight points the rest of the game.  Walton was led in scoring by Harrow with 26 point and Noah Adams led the Titans in scoring with 18 points. 


MacArthur 66, Granite City 23

MacArthur dominated the Warriors holding a 43-19 lead at the half. The Generals held the Warriors to four second half points and put in the running clock in the fourth quarter. MacArthur was led in scoring by Monte Wilson with 19 points and Kendall Kinnson with 12 points.


Lincoln 68, Riverview Gardens 59

Jordan Nelson scored 22 points and Kyle Young chipped in 18 points for the Railers. The Railers led from the second quarter on but Riverview cut the led to one several times in the fourth quarter before Lincoln pulled away in the final 4 minutes. Riverview was led in scoring by Kelton Ramsey with 18 points, all in the second half.


Decatur Eisenhower 67, Belleville East 61

Drew Washington scored 22 points, Jarod Oldham 18 points for the Panthers who cam back from 5 point defecit to knock off the Lancers. Both teams traded the lead back and forth to start the third quarter. Lancers led by as much as five before the Panthers came back. Leading the Lancers in scoring was Kevin Pettiford with 24 points


Springfield Southeast 73, Madison 54

Lawrence Thomas scored 18 points and Corbin Doss put in 16 points as Southeast rolled past the Trojans. Southeast led by as many as 29 points in the first round victory.


Oakville 63, Mount Zion 53

Keith Pickens scored 26 points and Garrett Reeg scored 15 points to put the Oakville Tigers in the winners bracket. Mt. Zion was led by Caleb Long with 17 points and Trevor Good with 15 points


Holiday Classic Preview

Walton High School of Marietta, GA is top seed for the 25th Annual Schnucks Holiday Classic. The Raiders feature two Atlantic Coast Conference signees. They are Glen Rice, Jr., son former NBA play Glen Rice, and Ryan Harrow. Rice a 6'5 senior has signed with Georgia Tech and Harrow a 6'0 junior has signed with North Carolina State.  More>>>


Walton gets No. 1 seed

Walton High School from Marietta, Georgia was awarded the No. 1 seed in the 25th Annual Schnucks Holiday Classic.  Walton is led by Georgia Tech recruit Glen Rice Jr (Pictured at left) The rest of the seeds are: No. 2 Lincoln, No. 3 Springfield Southeast, and No. 4 Belleville Althoff.
